octeniderm® colourless- Colourless skin antiseptic with a remanence effect of at least 48 hours

- broad antiseptic spectrum of activity (bactericidal incl. mycobacteria and MRSA, levurocidal, fungicidal, limited virucidal incl. HIV, HBV, HCV, HSV, adenovirus and rotavirus)
- rapid onset of action
Application areas:
- preoperative skin antisepsis/postoperative suture care
- before inserting vascular catheters (e.g. for the removal of blood vessels).B. CVCs)
- before injections, blood sampling, punctures, excisions, cannulations and biopsies
- if no special hand disinfectant is available, octeniderm® colourless can also be used for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection
Instructions for use: Before all invasive procedures: Spray the affected skin area/apply with a soaked swab, ensure complete wetting of the skin
and observe exposure times. Remove excess product to avoid the formation of puddles. For preoperative skin antisepsis: mechanically shorten the hair on the affected skin area. Preoperative washing (e.g. with octenisan®) is recommended. To avoid smudging of skin markings,
only use skin marking pens with sufficient alcohol resistance. When gluing incision foils, ensure sufficient drying in order not to impair adhesion. Shelf life after opening: 18 months.
Composition: 100 g solution contains: Medicinally active ingredients: Octenidine dihydrochloride 0.1 g, 1-propanol (Ph.Eur.) 30.0 g, 2-propanol (Ph.Eur.) 45.0 g. Other ingredient: purified water.
Special instructions: For external use on intact skin. Keep out of the reach of children. Due to the high alcohol content, the product should not be used on premature babies and newborns with immature skin (e.g. impaired skin barrier function). Flammable.
Do not bring into contact with flames or switched-on electrical heat sources. Absorb excess product to prevent puddles from forming. When using thermocauteries or other electrical devices, ensure that they are sufficiently dry. In the event of accidental eye contact with octeniderm® colourless, rinse immediately with plenty of water for several minutes holding the eyelids open. Avoid inhalation of vapours. If used before glucose tests (e.g. haemogluco sticks), allow the preparation to dry well in order to avoid any possible impairment of the test results. If octeniderm® colourless comes into contact with products based on PVP iodine, strong brown to violet discolouration may occur. Do not combine octeniderm® colourless with
coloured products. Do not use after the expiry date.
